Map Change When?

The problem is that there /does/ need to be a map change every once and awhile so people can stretch their legs. I have nothing against i17 and would love to return some day, but I'm so tired of it and need a break. But C8 is not that map.
Yeah, it could be because I joined shockcore at a later time that it still felt fresh.

But City 8 was a terrible choice and planned really poorly but I really do not think any other map exists to fully incorporate citizens, rebels, conscripts, and MPF all together consistently.

I think the problem is that MPF and Conscript eat from the same food source: rebels.

MPF need rebels and ACs for RP, or else they're just walking in circles and yelling at people for minor infractions.
Conscripts need rebels for RP because they need something to shoot at. If Conscripts don't have a steady supply of stuff to shoot at, they get bored.

Now, Conscripts diet doesn't wholly have to be rebels, but rebels act as a natural source of RP because they create conflict without admin/producer intervention. If rebels don't provide RP for conscripts, producers need to give events for Connies to do.

So now that rebels are centralized where conscripts are, MPF have nothing to eat. And back at i17, rebels were centralized where MPF were and so conscripts have nothing to do.

The only solution I can think of is basically a map or some sort of thing that encourages rebels to exist near both but have a reason to live near both and have a safe haven. Like, being near connies gives those loot drops, but being near mpf gives those fat shot cop guns. I dunno

We hit a pop of around 40 today. That's fairly normal, but there was still no RP to be had for anyone who wasn't a conscript or outlands dwelling rebel.
We did, but here's the thing. Usually on I17 the population stayed at 40 for around five hours or so, now the population decreased after a smaller amount of time.

There's no way producers and the server can balance well between conscripts and MPF with our population. We need to be double the size from our general 40 members if conscripts and MPF expect to function well together out of the same source.

We still have the whole side of citizens which without their own events leave MPF to be bored out of their minds in dealing with nothing.

Honestly, no map is going to balance all of the factions well in a consistent basis, none. We can revert back to I17 with leaving conscripts to the dust or completely change the way of the server to be more CMRP based or CRP based.

this is kinda why we need CMRP, that way MPF has its anti-citizens and Connies can have there big firefights and missions

the only issue is that the server pop would be split so its a win-lose

Exactly.

It's either we focus on the conscripts and rebels with the denizens in the middle or MPF and rebels like it was in I17.
If I had to pick, I'd vote for the first one, can lead to TONS of fun with BMD's providing missions and Conscripts getting missions along with long firefights with each side having there own big guns and cars and tactics, leading to firefights being intense and situations that can be big and fun.

Trust me I was a BMD and a Producer for CMRP, it was awesome

but what will the mpf do?

Thats the thing, we can't win. You could always have the MPF grouped up with the Conscripts, share the same base but with there own rules, maybe have them focus more on capturing and more specific roles like back in CMRP when connies had there own HELIX and GRID branches

city45 gets shit on a lot but its a lot less convoluted than c8 in terms of accessibility and it provides a new environment for people to roam in
plus if its really THAT ugly, props exist for a reason. dress it up dammit

how tf do you fit 3 factions on C18, a map the size of Dust 2

Try something we haven't done before. Exeriment. C33 could be a canidate. I know for sure we were going to try it at one point ~6-12 months ago.

to be honest, we had to expect that faction balancing was going to become an issue at one point or another since the conscripts were migrated to city roleplay
there are pretty much no maps on gmod that can make the server fun for more than two competing factions
basically this
we can suggest good maps and even choose the most "perfect" one, which is apparently industrial 17, but even then we're not happy for one reason or another.
like it or not, the addition of conscripts has disrupted the flow. there's too many factions in play atm with citizens, rebels, metropolice, conscripts, overwatch, black market..
we won't have space for it all unless conscripts were removed from the server (though I dislike suggesting that because I appreciate what conscript players bring to the server)

City 45 doesn’t have an area for Conscripts to reside unless we station them in the Nexus.

I’m tempted to say that we call a void to the i17 event and go back.

The two things that grind my gears is that..
1: Happy tried C8 and server pop died off to a point that there was no way to regain pop while on said map.

2: We made it EXPLICITLY clear that a map change was going to require a well-done story arch, not a shoddy blow up the map event.
