City Roleplay: Sawfish Update
  • Sawfish is now 'officially' back (as if it ever left). Basically there is now a description in the sub-section about what it is and how it can be used.
  • A bounty board has been created that provides guidelines for both endorsed and non-endorsed SAWFISH bounties. People should take the time to read if they want to start getting into some wetwork.

Side Update:
  • I've touched up on ban rules in the handbook. Mostly just rewording and moving certain indefinite bans to be labelled as temporary instead (Stuff like avoiding RP). More to avoid Staff from excessively using a permanent ban for a ban length.

New month, some more new updates from the most recent meeting.

- New drinks for the Citizens - particular for Jimbo's business. You can now buy drinks at his stand.
- Several rules are going to be optimized and or removed for preference of administrator discernment and decision. Some of these rules are just hard to enforce or enforce consistently, so they'll be automated, edited, or moved to admins.
- If you're doing PKs within a 'gray area' - meaning if they're premeditated and have no obvious developmental personal connections, then they should have an authorization to better confirm their actionable implications. Note this could mean that the entire server would be notified that there will be an attempted PK on someone if the targeted has no reason to believe he's targeted.
- Analog cameras are used to identify situations now. No more physical description based read offs.
- Combine cameras that take reasonably close pictures (animation trigger) of someone's undisguised phase can have a 24 hour face recognition process. Once completed, the subject in question is publically announced through Dispatch and the character in question is put into a custom class 'suspect' for a week.
- Complaints will now start off as locked, which will serve as a buffer between tempered derailments and reasonable points. Parties will give off two responses or respond until judges do not need more information.
- Vortigaunts will still be whitelisted as current based on the players' knowledge over a set of canon and ruleset. Their affiliations will not be counted as a whitelist qualifier.
- Vortigaunts will be dewhitelisted based on a peer review system on the sake of lore and demeanor.
- Vortigaunt powers are now dropped down to basic, leaving them to only essentially zap (offensively and empower) and communicate through vortflux. In the future their powers will drain hunger/thirst.
- Vortigaunts will use a authorization to gain non-basic powers, like shorting generators, creating shields, teleportation, and mind reading. This will replace the vortigaunt 'ranking' system and opt for one that refers to experience and knowledge rather than title and position. Once again, this may also be judged by peers.
- Vort powers will also be more implied on a swep basis rather than a administratively intervened basis.
- Conscript base raids will need at least 4+ Conscripts to start a raid. In doing so, MPF and OTA are also allowed to intervene or support.
- Safeboxes back.


- We've got clearer rules for forum moderation under the staff team. From this, staff will act more professionally on public channels including the forums and ingame, but rules will be more lax on fast threads and on Discord.
- Mods will be publicly warning people to exemplify what is good and bad behavior to better interpret the rule set.


Reminder
- Reminder that if you're going to do some sort of S2K in D2 as an MPF sweep, you need admin authorization for a call out beforehand. Best to be a super admin.
- Expedition system still under development.
- New U and u flags will allow GRID and CWU to make weapons that cost less than the armory.
- Biolocks for the AR2's are coming up.
- OTA price list changes are coming up.
- TFA weapons are optimized in the test server and going through the last bits.

I increased the amount of people you can tag in a post to 10, so tagging rosters and shit should be more effective.

Anyone who is considered a staff (mods, devs, etc) has unlimited tags. Don't abuse or ban!!!!

  • Glock irons are fixed.
  • Provisional white man with jelly is now edible
  • Conscripts are now able to use /togglenv and /viewdata
  • Smoke Grenade flag added
  • /Togglevocoder now notifies you if you've enabled or disabled your vocoder.
  • Sawfish PDA has been readded as a non-union crackable communication device.

Weapon sounds have been altered so that they now play 'Distant Sounds' meaning that if you shoot a gun on the one-side of the district, the other side will most likely hear it. In terms for shooting in the sewers, sound echos because its bouncing off the walls. Shell beach is just a meme-center.

cameras should stop staring at mpf now.
floating lock fix re-applied, seems to have lowered the number of floating locks by 90%. good enough for me.
This is the most exciting update I’ve seen in two months. You are a god.

serviceannounce has received an update and has now split into two separate commands. the primary focus for this command is for announcements that do not fit the role of /dispatch, /broadcast, or /event. permissions are the same for both commands, 02+, OTA, CCB, or operator+
-/serviceautoannounce will contain the same things as before as this command as meant for permanent establishments/functions
-/serviceannounce will now be for manual input, generally served as a civil-service announcement system for temporary establishments/functions i.e. player-owned businesses.

  • Passive Dispatch should no longer just be text, will have audio cue
  • An extra failsafe has been added to ensure NPC Weapons are deleted upon death
  • VisorBackup has been fixed and should now properly display a Distress Marker and notification sound.
  • DoorKick chance has been buffed
  • Jimbo's Tonics fixed
  • Flashbangs have been changed! The end of CSGO-style flashbangs has come. The Stun Effect is now 8>14 and the Flash Effect is now 6>10
  • The Facial Recognition plugin has been reinstated.

  • Various commands have had their permission level reduced
  • GRID will now show up as a 'TECHNICAL UNIT' and a missing check has been applied for Leader Units
  • A Prop Blacklist has been instated after growing complaints of various users taking advantage of Administrative Trust
  • Conscripts have been added to the Facial Recognition after I took a crash course in lua patterns
  • Added Conscripts to the emplacement gun

  • Citizens, CWU, CMU, Enslaved Vortigaunt, and Off-Duty MPF have been added to the Facial Recognition plugin though after discussion with Para, this feature will be commented out until I can get the convar working or if the community is comfortable with all those factions having it with certain restrictions. At the moment, it will only show the Character's Name and CID as would be logged in any Union Database.
  • @ZombieMesh's Erotica Book 2 added
  • Flex Tape should now be able to be given to other characters
  • Conscript-Chan(otherwise known as Operator-Chan) pillow added for loyalists
